Sales Consultant
($85k/Year Base +Commission)
Job Summary
The Sales Consultant is responsible for our B2B technology solutions selling process, selling Managed Services solutions to our target market. The primary focus is to hunt for new business opportunities and convert these prospects into clients. From prospecting through closing, the Sales Consultant will be responsible for all phases of the sales process including prospect identification, developing interest, conducting needs analysis, making presentations (on site and virtual), creating proposals and asking for the business. This will require both in person and virtual client visits.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiate contact with prospects that have been generated by marketing or from appointment setting.
- Proactively prospect and hunt for new business in our primary target markets.
- Work with prospects to develop a deep understanding of their needs and translate those needs into product requirements that satisfy their demands.
- Conduct onsite or online presentations that showcase the services and products of the company to prospects.
- Develop proposals, quotes, and respond to RFP/RFI documents.
- Effectively communicate features and benefits of solutions and manage prospect expectations.
- Identify needs and business case with prospects for all recommended products and services and effectively communicate the business case to prospects.
- Help customers understand managed IT services, contracts, lease agreements, and service level agreements.
- Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other related events.
- Maintain in-depth product knowledge of the service offerings of the company.
- Maintain all contact data and activities in the CRM tool.
- Perform sales procedures through activities and opportunities in CRM tool and remain compliant with defined policies and procedures.
- Follow the sales processes as defined in Cards Technology documentation.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer’s needs and business.
- Escalate sales and marketing issues to the VP, Sales and Marketing as required.
- Review relevant publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future trends emerging in the industry.
- Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
- Responsible for entering time and expenses in the CRM tool as they occur.
- Understand processes in the CRM tool by completing assigned training materials.
Qualifications
- 3 years of outside sales experience with selling relevant services and products.
- Proven track record of managing the customer commitment, negotiation, closing of the sales process, and meeting sales quotas and objectives.
- Demonstrated level of success in the development of client relationships.
- Enjoy working with customers and external audiences.
- High energy and drive with good negotiation skills.
- Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals.
- Proficient with general office applications.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Skill in preparing written communications and materials.
- Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate data entry.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment. Quickly adaptable to new computer software: Office 365 (Outlook, excel, word), Autotask and SharePoint are key software used by KTS.
- Admin Assistant must be reliable, on time, and have own transportation.
Working conditions
Office: Flexibility to work from home office or KTS Office.
Travel: Work may require travel to clients at different locations other than the KTS Office, but mostly within San Diego County.
Hours: Business Hours 8:00am – 5:00pm (Monday through Friday)
Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
- Minimum 2-4 years of BDB Sales (Preferred)
