Office 365 Channels are live on IFTTT

Last month Microsoft launched the Office 365 Channels on IFTTT (If This Then That) to coordinate information flow in an automated way. IFTTT is a web-based service that allows users to create chains of simple conditional statements, called “recipes”, which are triggered based on changes to other web services such as Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and now Office 365.  You can use these recipes to utilize various triggers that exist for Internet Apps, and then automate actions in other apps or products  that occur in response to the trigger.

The Office 365 Channels allow you to automate what happens with your Office 365 data. These channels are designed to help increase Office 365 user’s productivity.

The Office 365 Channels include:

  • Mail
  • One Drive for Business
  • Calendar
  • Contacts

Users can create Recipes to program activities. These recipes can accomplish activities like automatically save a photo to OneDrive for Business when it’s posted to Instagram with a particular hashtag, or sharing a new Office 365 contact that was added to the team’s Trello Board or Slack Team.

Below are some Office 365 sample Recipes to help users get started.

The Mail Channel helps you create a centralized place to review of all of the information coming in from across the Internet.
