casestudy_sunriseSunrise Management – Remote IT Support

Established in 1968, Sunrise Management is a privately owned firm headquartered in San Diego. They provide real estate management services to investment firms, financial institutions, and private property owners both locally and internationally. Sunrise Management has a flat, accessible management structure with their corporate headquarters directly supporting regional operations.

Situation

Sunrise Management depends on preferred vendors to support the properties they manage. They needed a trusted partner to perform IT support and property set-up for its various properties throughout the Southern California and Arizona areas in addition to supporting the corporate offices in San Diego. It was important for them to develop a standard procedure for adopting new properties and getting them connected to their central property management website. The ability to support properties remotely was also a high priority due to the broad geographic area involved.

Solution

KTS is proud to be part of their preferred vendor list and helps maintain many of their property’s IT needs. These services include providing hardware and software sales, onsite set up and configuration, and on-call customer support when needed. A standard computer set up and configuration has been established that allows for standardization, which saves time during set up and helps with support. Much of the property support needs can be handled remotely through KTS’s helpdesk utilizing remote desktop control capabilities, which allows immediate resolution of issues. Along with supporting Sunrise Management’s properties, KTS assists the corporate office with technology planning and support on an as-needed basis. Working with Sunrise Management has truly been a win-win business relationship.

casestudy_sunriseCustom Logos – Backup and Disaster Recovery

Custom Logos is a San Diego based corporate branding and marketing company specializing in imprinted sportswear and promotional products. Serving their customers since 1989, they offer comprehensive solutions for a variety of product areas including promotional products, apparel, commercial printing, logo design, on-line company stores and fulfillment. With a staff of over 50 experienced professionals the company has manufacturing capabilities in San Diego and serves numerous national clients.

Situation

Custom Logos was experiencing rapid growth, with many large San Diego and National companies relying on their services to provide branded promotional items and apparel. Custom Logos had outgrown their existing IT infrastructure, which was using server and storage hardware that was out dated. In additional to problems with the age and performance of their systems, the backup and disaster recovery solution in place was no longer capable of meeting the necessary requirements for onsite and offsite data retention. To keep up with the high levels of growth and continue to provide outstanding service to their customers, it was necessary to upgrade their IT infrastructure and backup solution.

Solution

The Kazmarek team met with the two owners and the CFO to discuss and develop a new IT strategy and a solution to replace the older servers, storage and backup and disaster recovery solution. Deciding to take advantage of the many benefits offered by Virtualization, a solution was developed that included the use of redundant Virtual Machine (VM) host servers and a single highly available shared storage SAN. This provides the capability for both servers to access all of the VMs on the SAN so that they are both capable of hosting all VMs in the case that one of the hosts failed. This high availability solution is capable of failing over a virtual machine from a failed host in less than three minutes. To improve the capabilities, speed and redundancy of the backup solution, Veeam was chosen to provide image level backups of all virtual machines, storing backup data in redundant Network Attached Storage arrays located in two different locations.

casestudy_sunriseInspec Testing – Hosted PBX

Inspec Testing, Inc. is a nondestructive testing service company founded in 1996 in San Diego, California. Inspec Testing, Inc. has offices located in San Diego and Honolulu Hawaii, and were looking to expand their operations to Virginia as well. Inspec Testing wanted a phone system which would allow them to transfer calls between all three locations seamlessly.

Situation

Kazmarek Technology Solutions offers hosted PBX services that utilize VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) technology to provide all the capabilities of a modern phone system at a fraction of the cost of an on-premises system. KTS suggested that Inspec Testing replace their traditional PBX with our hosted PBX solution. Compared to a traditional PBX, a VOIP based system supports rapid additions and changes of phones and extensions. Our hosted PBX service gives us the ability to configure phones locally in San Diego. Once ready, they can be shipped to the location where they’ll be used. The phones use existing Internet connectivity to make and receive calls.

Solution

Inspec Testing, Inc. was very satisfied with the end result. All the office locations are able to do inter-office call transfers between locations, and long distance phone charges have been greatly reduced. As Inspec Testing, Inc. continues to expand its operations, KTS will be able to quickly provision new phones and ship them ready for use to end users. Reduced costs and simplified logistics are only some of the benefits provided by our hosted PBX service.
