Remote Access:

With so many different ways to connect to your office remotely, let Kazmarek Technology Solutions (KTS) take the guessing game out of the picture and derive the best solution for your organization. Our engineering staff is highly experienced in many different technologies such as:

VPN Implementations

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) have been around for many years and are sometimes a great fit for business’s requiring remote access to applications, data, phone systems (VoIP), etc. The largest downfall with VPNs has been speed issues, since all data traffic has to traverse back and forth within the VPN tunnel. But with the increase in broadband speeds and Telco costs coming down for these higher speed connections in the last few years, VPN connections have become more reliable and speeds have become more acceptable. If you are still dealing with performance issues and/or application control for you business, a Microsoft Terminal Server or Citrix server may be the better fit.

Microsoft Terminal Services

Terminal Services in Windows Server 2003 provides new options for application deployment, more efficient access to data over low bandwidth, reuse of older hardware, remote management, and other tasks. With Terminal Services, end-users remotely connect to your office server, and only encrypted keyboard and mouse strokes are transmitted over the network. Therefore, the performance is as if they are sitting right at their desk and have access to their normal office resources (data, printers, server drives, etc.).

With the recent launch of Windows Server 2008, Terminal Services has evolved even further with new functionality to connect to remote computers and applications.

Terminal Services RemoteApp completely integrates applications running on a terminal server with users' desktops such that they behave as if they were running on an individual user's local computer; users can run programs from a remote location side-by-side with their local programs.

Terminal Services Web Access permits this same flexibility of remote application access via a Web browser, granting an even wider variety of access methods for users wishing to use programs executing on a terminal server.

These features in conjunction with Terminal Services Gateway allow users to access remote desktops and remote applications via HTTPS in a firewall-friendly manner.

The Remote Web Workplace (RWW) is a feature of Microsoft’s Small Business Server and provides a single, simple, secure, and consolidated entry point for remote users to access the Small Business Server’s features. It allows external users one place to access Outlook Web Access (web e-mail), the individual user’s desktop, and internal web server (SharePoint), all this using nothing more than a simple web browser.
